What is a Forest Feature Offset?

What is a Forest Feature Offset?

We believe in the power of protecting forested land that combats the human carbon footprint. Trees are one of the most efficient and natural resources that remove carbon from the atmosphere. Forests need to be managed in a sustainable way that ensures they are around for many generations to sequester carbon.

When you acquire a Forest Feature Carbon Neutralizing Offset, you are protecting and preserving an acre of forest and delegating that forest as responsible for sequestering your lifestyles' of businesses carbon emissions. These acres of land are set aside as responsible for sequestering only your business' or lifestyles’ emissions. Forest Feature requires landowners to maintain a minimum amount of trees per acre to ensure sequestration is happening.

One Forest Feature carbon offset neutralizes one metric ton of carbon annually. The sale of offsets goes back to the landowner in the form of a monetary resources that reimburse the landowner for the carbon sequestering ability of their land and aids in covering high forest management costs. Forest Feature carbon offsets are protecting hundreds of thousands of forested acres and ensures that forests remain to sequester carbon indefinitely.

All Forest Feature offsets are verified before being sold and are validated annually. This ensures landowner practices align with the requirements of Forest Features agreements with them.  Verification and validation provide confidence in our offset program that these offsets are transparent and accurate. All offsets are entered into our Carbon Offset Registry to minimize any chance of double counting.

Forest Feature complies with Verra Carbon Standards.
